Groundbreaking ecosystemic analysis of the art market and its future trajectories

I authored and researched this widely read and referenced report. In it I map out the growth and accompanying polarisation, along with the technological transformation, that has taken place in the UK art market over the last 2-3 decades. I identify and explore how the art market is reaching a structural tipping point. Then propose future trajectories for the market - from the growth of the market for digital work (and NFTs), to the amplification of access to capital as a marker for success and the emergence of new models for art ownership. My propositions include responses from artists, gallerists, critics and innovators: Rozsa Farkas, Robert Norton, Harm van den Dorpel, The White Pube and Penny Rafferty.

The report was launched at an unconference held at Somerset House in 2019. The report was commissioned by Creative United, funders and partners for the report and launch included: DACS, Creative Scotland, Arteia, Vastari, Somerset House and Arts Council England.
